About us

On the Edge sells specialty coffee drinks from beans grown and produced around the world. We work with roasters who source beans ethically so farmers are paid enough to help them earn a decent living. On The Edge currently works with a variety of local roasters.

We believe coffee is one of life’s necessities. Brewing and selling coffee is a natural extension of our passion for the beverage and its ability to bring people together. On the Edge is an independent family business on the east edge of downtown Edmonton. We live in and around central Edmonton: downtown, in Riverdale, and in Boyle. We support the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market as our place of employment and our closest primary grocery store. We are proud vendors and feel privileged to be able to buy healthy sustainable local food in such a great location – the historic GWG/Army and Navy building on 97 Street.

We are committed to the downtown and its market

We support local! One of our roasters, The Grizzlar, is a downtown Edmonton business with a commitment to the city’s core by supplying coffee to our neighbours who can’t always afford it. The Grizzlar donates 10% of its roastery output weight to Boyle Street Community Services. Another of our local roaster partners, 8 Acres Coffee and Roastery, supports a sustainable coffee farm in Guatemala and a micro-lot roastery in Sherwood Park, and they guarantee a 20 Quetzales or $4.00 +/- to the farm gate. We also feature other locally roasted coffees. Our coffee equipment supplier National Cappuccino is just a few doors south of the market on 97 Street. We provide our customers with bite-sized treats from market bakers that complement our brews –  chocolate from Nest Whole Foods, macarons from Whipped Up Baked Goods, biscotti and cinnamon buns from OMG Oh My Goodies, and gluten-free cookies from Persian Empire Pastry.
